  • Dr. Clark enjoys providing care for the full spectrum of diseases of the colon and rectum.
  • Colon and Rectal Cancer, including both common and uncommon variants
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease, including both Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease

  • Surgical Nutrition and Fitness, which Dr. Clark considers important across the spectrum of surgical care
  • Benign diseases of the anus and rectum, including ailments such as hemorrhoids, fistulas, fissures, and abscesses.  These are typically the most common problems for which colon and rectal surgeons provide treatment.  Dr. Clark values a practical approach to these generally benign but often annoying problems.  If you see her for such an ailment, you are likely to hear her say, “We need to figure out a treatment that is better than the problem.”  You can rest assured that she will work with you to avoid a trip to the operating room unless that is really the best way to make you better.

  • Northwest Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, member since 2013.  Dr. Clark particularly enjoys interacting with this regional group of colorectal surgeons so they can share ideas, practices, and research efforts that help all of their patients.
  • Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society.  While still in general surgery residency training, Dr. Clark was chosen by her medical students and mentors for this honor.  Members are selected for excelling in creating a culture of respect, dignity and compassion for patients and professionals.  For more information click here.

  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease Multidisciplinary Program.  All of our doctors participate with other local physicians from three hospitals in specialties including gastroenterology, radiology, and pathology so that they can make multidisciplinary treatment recommendations for patients with complex cases of inflammatory bowel disease, such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
  • Multidisciplinary cancer care.  All of our doctors participate with other local physicians from two hospitals in specialties including medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, and pathology so that they can make multidisciplinary treatment recommendations for patients with complex cases of colorectal cancer.
  • Cancer Liaison Physician to the to the American Cancer Society for St. Mark’s Hospital.  Dr. Waldron has been selected by her colleagues in cancer care to provide regular updates to the American Cancer Society and the hospital’s Cancer Committee regarding ongoing data collection and analysis for the Commission on Cancer by St. Mark’s Hospital’s Cancer Center.
  • St. Mark’s Hospital Cancer Center Joint Governance Council.  This Council is comprised of four physician oncology specialists and four hospital administrators who have partnered to make decisions guiding the ongoing growth of St. Mark’s Hospital Cancer Services.
  • St. Mark’s Hospital Cancer Committee.  As a part of her ongoing work with the hospital and the American Cancer Society, Dr. Waldron regularly meets with other physicians, nurses, hospital administration, and the American Cancer Society to assure that we are meeting and exceeding standard of care for our cancer patients.
  • St. Mark’s Hospital Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship, faculty member.  Dr. Waldron is committed to education and enjoys the privilege of being able to pass on her knowledge and experience to young general surgeons training in her specialty.  Our doctors work with four other colorectal surgeons to train two new colon and rectal surgeons each year.
